No one really knows what happened at this place. Like layers of time covering the past, kudzu takes over this bridge on an old road bed. Some believe slaves waited in this bayou, before being sold at the Forks of the Road — the second largest slave market in the South. Only in the winter does the arch of the historic bridge reveal itself. Other times of the year it is covered by kudzu and layers of time.
