Day 123 — Photo bombed?
Ben Hillyer, 2014
Another photo to add to my Genus Loci series of photos of St. Mary. The church steeple is ever-present in the Natchez landscape.
Day 122 — Standing guard
Ben Hillyer, 2014
Went out to enjoy the full moon and ended up with a companion watching for possums. coyotes or zombies on Friday 13.
Day 121 — Secret spaces
Ben Hillyer, 2104
The unique thing about Natchez is the extreme change in elevation between properties and the street. It used to be even more extreme. Houses sit up on hills and overlook the mundane city street. This secluded lawn at Elicott Hill is cool and serene compared to the jumble of telephone wires and building on Canal Street below.
Day 120 — Lollipop landscaping
Ben Hillyer, 2014
Now this house on East Franklin Street capitalizes on a creative solution to landscaping.
Day 119 — In the attic
Ben Hillyer, 2014
Attic windows have alway fascinated me. Anne Frank, secret trunks filled with old negatives, long, lost masterpieces and then there is the face in the courthouse window from my hometown — is it real or is it fake. Maybe it is a ghost. Here is a link.
Of course there is not a ghost in this Natchez house.
